  Ordered, That Professor Gerald Wistow and Melanie Henwood be appointed Specialist Advisers to assist the Committee in its inquiry into Delayed Discharges.- (The Chairman.)

  National Institute for Clinical Excellence: Clara MacKay, Principal Adviser, Health, and Mr Ike Iheanacho, Deputy Editor, Drug and Therapeutics Bulletin, Consumers' Association, were examined.

  Professor Martin Kendall, Chairman, Joint Formulary Committee, and Dr Dinesh Mehta, Executive Editor, British National Formulary, Mr Andrew Moore, Editor, Bandolier, Dr Martin Duerden, Mr Chris Newdick and Professor Tom Walley, were examined.

  Mr Glynn McDonald, Policy and Campaigns Manager, Multiple Sclerosis Society, Becky Miles, Director, National Cancer Alliance, Mr Harry Cayton, Chief Executive, Alzheimer's Society, and Joanne Rule, Chief Executive, CancerBACUP, were examined.
