ECHO funds disbursement to Afghanistan
ECHO has committed 31.3 million euros for Afghanistan
since September 2001 through United Nations agencies, the Red
Cross movement and non-governmental organisations.
ECHO reports that it cannot currently provide
specific information on the time taken to disburse grants for
Afghanistan due to the need for manual retrieval and vertification
from Commission-wide systems.
However our assessment, based on discussion
with ECHO-funded agencies, is that in general, disbursement has
been speedy.
