Guidelines for Overseas Travel: The Committee deliberated further.

Resolved, That the revised guidelines for overseas travel be approved.— (The Chairman.)

Westminster Hall

Resolved, that the Chairman do write to Mr Speaker proposing that 28 February, 21 March, 25 April, 16 May, 13 June, and 11 July be the revised list of six Thursdays provided by the Sessional Order for debates on Select Committee Reports in Westminster Hall.— (The Chairman.)

Estimates Day

Ordered, That the Chairman do make the following Report to the House:

That the Liaison Committee had directed him to report the following recommendation for the allocation of time for the consideration of Estimates on an allotted day (being the second allotted day in the present Session of Parliament):

That a day not later than 18 March be allotted for the consideration of the following Supplementary Estimates for the financial year 2001-02:

Ministry of Defence, in so far as they relate to the deployment of Ministry of Defence resources in the war against terrorism;

HM Treasury, in so far as they relate to policy on environmental taxation.— (The Chairman.)

The Committee deliberated.

Draft Report (The Work of Select Committees 2001), proposed by the Chairman, brought up and read.

Ordered, That the draft Report be read a second time, paragraph by paragraph.

Paragraphs 1 to 33 read and agreed to.

Resolved, That the Report be the First Report of the Committee to the House.

Ordered, That the Chairman do make the Report to the House.

Resolved, That the Committee approves the following visits:

European Scrutiny Committee to Brussels at a cost not exceeding £18,239;

Environmental Audit Committee to Germany at a cost not exceeding £23,599;

Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Committee to New Zealand at a cost not exceeding £63,671;

Joint Committee on Human Rights to Dublin at a cost not exceeding £4,000, and to New Delhi at a cost not exceeding £44,000;

International Development Committee to Sierra Leone at a cost not exceeding


Foreign Affairs Committee to Turkey at a cost not exceeding £25,505;

Trade and Industry Committee to Geneva at a cost not exceeding £10,745.— (The   Chairman.)
