The Committee deliberated.

Draft Report (Select Committees: Modernisation Proposals), proposed by the Chairman, brought up and read.

Ordered, That the draft Report be read a second time, paragraph by paragraph.

Paragraphs 1 to 46 read and agreed to.

Resolved, That the Report be the Second Report of the Committee to the House.

Ordered, That the Chairman do make the Report to the House.

Debates in Westminster Hall: The Committee agreed the Reports to be recommended   for debate in Westminster Hall.

 Overseas Travel

Resolved, That the Committee approves the following visits:

Foreign Affairs Committee to New York and Washington at a cost not exceeding   £24,949, to Cyprus at a cost not exceeding £17,744, and to Copenhagen at a cost not exceeding £16,842.

Education and Skills Committee to Paris at a cost not exceeding £15,927;

Culture, Media and Sport Committee to the United States at a cost not exceeding   £64,950;

Defence Committee to NATO Enlargement countries at a cost not exceeding £26,512, and to Russia at a cost not exceeding £36,920;

Work and Pensions Committee to the United States at a cost not exceeding £76,300;

European Scrutiny Committee to Copenhagen and Warsaw at a cost not exceeding   £29,400;

Trade and Industry Committee to Geneva at a cost not exceeding £10, 745.—(The Chairman.)
