Modernisation Committee Proposals

The Committee deliberated.

Resolved, That the offer of the Leader of the House to meet informally with the Committee to discuss the implications for Select Committees of the Modernisation Committee's recommendations be accepted.—(The Chairman.)

Uncorrected Transcripts on the Internet

The Committee deliberated.

Resolved, That the Committee approves the recommendation from the Sub-Committee that approval be sought from the House of Commons Commission for the extension to other types of oral evidence of the existing facility for placing uncorrected transcripts of evidence on the Internet, subject to guidelines to be drawn up by the Committee.—(The Chairman.)

Debates in Westminster Hall: The Committee agreed the Reports to be recommended for debate in Westminster Hall in June and July.

Modernisation Committee's Report on Select Committees: The Committee deliberated.

Overseas Travel

Resolved, That the Committee approves the following visits:

Public Administration Committee to the Netherlands at a cost not exceeding £11,612;

Trade and Industry Committee to China and Taiwan at a cost not exceeding £71,500;

Joint Committee on Human Rights to Dublin at a cost not exceeding £4,000;

Treasury Committee Sub-Committee to Dublin at a cost not exceeding £7,930.— (The Chairman.)
