Mr Tim Burr, Deputy Comptroller and Auditor General, was examined.

The Committee deliberated.

Mr Brian Glicksman, Treasury Officer of Accounts was further examined.

The Comptroller and Auditor General's Report on Purchasing Professional Services (HC 400) was considered.

Mr Peter Gershon CBE, Chief Executive, and Mr Hugh Barrett, Executive Director, Supplier Relations and e-Commerce, Office of Government Commerce, were examined; Mr Michael Whitehouse, Director, National Audit Office, was examined (HC 309-i).

Mr Richard Bacon declared a former non-pecuniary interest as a Director of the Management Consultancies Association.

The witnesses were further examined.
