Mr Glenn Hull, Second Treasury Officer of Accounts, was further
examined.
The Comptroller and Auditor General's Report on Improving student
achievement in English higher education (HC 486) was considered.
Mr David Normington CB, Permanent Secretary, Department for Education
and Skills; and Professor Sir Howard Newby CBE, Chief Executive,
Higher Education Funding Council for England were further examined;
and Mr Jeff Jones, Account Director, National Audit Office, was
examined (HC 588-i ).
The witnesses withdrew.
The Committee further deliberated.
Resolved, That copies of the corrected transcript of evidence
taken before the Committee on 28 and 30 January be placed in the
Library of the House of Commons for the use of Members and the
Records Office, House of Lords, for public inspection.(Mr
David Rendel).
Draft Report (Ministry of Defence: Maximising the Benefits of
Defence Equipment Co-operation), proposed by the Chairman, brought
up and read.
Ordered, That the draft Report be read a second time, paragraph
by paragraph.
