The Comptroller and Auditor General's Report on Construction of
Portcullis House, the new Parliamentary building (HC 750), was
considered.
Sir William McKay KCB, Clerk of the House of Commons and Chief
Executive; Mr Andrew Walker, Director of Finance and Administration,
and Mr Michael Barram, Director of Finance Policy, Department
of Finance and Administration; Mr Henry Webber, Director of Estates,
and Mr Andrew Makepeace, Project Sponsor, Parliamentary Estates
Directorate, Department of the Serjeant at Arms, House of Commons,
were examined; Mr Joe Cavanagh, Director, National Audit Office,
was further examined (HC 861-i).
Mr David Rendel declared a non-pecuniary interest in having been
a member of the Accommodation and Works Committee.
The witnesses were further examined.
