Letter to Mr Arif Husain, General Mediterranean
Holding (UK) Ltd, from the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards
You may be aware that I am currently investigating
complaints that Mr Vaz failed to register all his financial interests
in the House of Commons Register of Members Interests.
I have taken evidence from a number of witnesses
and am now seeking to verify that information.
Lord Lamont of Lerwick has suggested that I write
to you for information concerning Mr Vaz's directorship(s) for
General Mediterranean Holdings.
Please would you let me have the following information
from your records with supporting documentation such as extracts
from minutes, correspondence or other company records.
1. The exact period(s) during which Mr Vaz served
as a non-executive director on the Board of General Mediterranean
Holdings and/or any of its subsidiary companies or associated
2. The remuneration agreed by the company for
Mr Vaz's service(s) with the date(s) on which it was agreed.
3. The date(s) on which the agreed remuneration(s)
was communicated to Mr Vaz.
4. The amount of any remuneration paid to Mr
Vaz at any time, by the company, any associated company, or subsidiary
If you would prefer to discuss this with me perhaps
you would telephone my office to suggest a convenient time for
me to meet you.
May I thank you in advance for your assistance.
