Letter to Mr David Broad, Hinduja Foundation,
from the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards
You may be aware that I am investigating an allegation
that Mr Vaz failed to disclose a payment from the Hinduja Foundation
during an investigation into allegations that he had not entered
in the Register of Member's Interests payments and benefits which
he had received.
To assist my enquiry, please would you let me have
details of all payments made by the Foundation for any purpose,
connected in any way, with Mr Vaz, Ms Fernandes or Mapesbury Communications.
Please would you provide me with dates, amounts and
the purpose of all such payments.
I understand that one such payment was made by the
Hinduja Foundation to Mapesbury Communications on 6 July 1995.
Please would you also provide details of the costs that payment
was intended to cover, any correspondence which relates to the
event in question, the purpose of the payment and the underlying
records which gave rise to it.
I would be grateful for your confirmation that you
have provided me with a complete list of all such payments.
