Letter to the Parliamentary Commissioner
for Standards from Mr David Broad, Hinduja Foundation (UK)
As I mentioned on the 'phone this morning, I can
confirm that during my own time as Director of the Hinduja Foundation
(since September 1997) and that of my predecessor, Mr Hugh Carless
(since 1989) at no time did Mr Keith Vaz have a desk or have a
call on the use of office facilities at the Foundation. During
my time, he has been in the habit of calling at New Zealand House
from time to time to discuss matters of mutual interest with the
Foundation Trustees and will have used the telephone and, very
occasionally, secretaries to help re-draft speeches for the Trustees
but so far as I am aware no more than that.
