Letter to Councillor Merlyn Vaz
from Chief Inspector K P Smith, Leicestershire
I am writing concerning a report which was made by
your son, Mr Keith Vaz, regarding a suspicious call which was
made to your address on or around the 4th October 2001.
I understand you have been ill recently and as such
I apologise for troubling you with this matter but I am keen to
bring our enquiries to a conclusion.
I would like an officer to visit you as soon as possible
for a few moments to ascertain the nature of the call and to obtain
your views concerning any future police action.
I would be most grateful if you could contact my
secretary, ***, or myself on the direct line shown above, and
I will make an appointment with an officer for you in order to
conclude this matter.
