Further evidence session on NATS finances:
Tuesday 11 June 2002
Thank you for the recent telephone call concerning
the further evidence session.
I have spoken with my Executive Board and at
this stage we have no further evidence to present to you other
than to request that the Transport Sub-Committee consider in greater
depth the following areas of concern to the Guild:
(1) The financial positions of the two NATS
Companies, NERL and NSL be examined separately and not as a whole
to determine in more detail the exact financial status.
(2) The effect that continuing uncertainty
on the future financial position of NATS is having on its staff,
particularly its Air Traffic Controllers, who are being placed
under even more additional stress by recent equipment failures.
Unfortunately the Executive Board and myself
will be holding a board meeting in Scotland on 11 June and will
therefore be unable to attend your further oral evidence session.
