To move the following Clause:'(1) Registration for the purpose of pest control shall not be effected under Part 2 in respect of the hunting of
(a) | deer of any species, or |
(b) | hares. |
(a) | on or after 1st August of a year, and |
(b) | before 1st November of that year. |
(4) Subject to subsections (1) to (3), registration may be effected under Part 2 in respect of the hunting of foxes, mink and other species of wild mammal (but only where the pest-control tests of utility and least suffering are satisfied in accordance with sections 10, 19 and 21).'.

(2) The Secretary of State may make regulations for the recognition of any existing body as the proper authority for making a code in respect of the conduct of any activity in connection with the use of dogs below ground on wild mammals.'.

To move the following Clause:'In applying the first test for registration, the registrar shall, in addition to the factors in paragraphs (a) to (h) of section 10(2), consider whether the proposed hunting of wild mammals
(a) | will contribute towards |
(i) | the sustainable management of the quarry species; |
(ii) | the enjoyment of sport and recreation; |
(iii) | the preservation of the landscape; |
(iv) | vermin control; |
(v) | habitat protection; |
(vi) | the sustainable development of the area (within the meaning of the Rio Declaration on Environment and Development 1992); |
(vii) | the interests of avoiding or preventing the spread of disease; |
(viii) | the control of nuisance animals; |
(ix) | the provisions of a service for the collection of dead, injured, ill and surplus livestock from farms in the area; or |
(b) | is for the purposes of obtaining food for animal or human consumption.'. |
