Annual report on effects of requests for banking information

    '(1)   The Secretary of State shall publish each year a report on the effects of requests for banking information introduced under this Act.

    (2)   In each report under subsection (1) the Secretary of State shall include—

      (a) a cost assessment of complying with a request for information,

      (b) the frequency of requests from participating countries, and

      (c) the time taken to comply with requests.'.

NEW CLAUSE RELATING TO PART 3

Disqualified drivers—insurance etc

To move the following Clause:—

       'This Clause applies where

      (1)(a) an individual ("the offender") who is normally resident either—

      (i) in the United Kingdom, or

      (ii) in a member state other than the United Kingdom, is convicted of an offence mentioned in Schedule 3;

      (b) no appeal is outstanding in relation to the offence;

      (c) the driving disqualification is met in relation to the offence, and

      (d) the offender was duly notified of the proceedings ("the relevant proceedings") in which the disqualification was imposed and was entitled to take part in them.

      (2)      A court in the United Kingdom shall not impose a penalty for any offence of driving without insurance or driving whilst disqualified, committed by the offender on the same occasion as the offence mentioned in Schedule 3 which is lower than the likely cost of obtaining insurance to drive for that offender.'.
