On Consideration of Lords Amendments to the European Parliament (Representation) Bill

As an Amendment to the Lords Amendment:—

(a)

Line     28,     leave out 'regulations' and insert 'subordinate legislation'.


ORDER OF THE HOUSE [10TH DECEMBER 2002]

       That the following provisions shall apply to the European Parliament (Representation) Bill:

Committal

    (1)   The Bill shall be committed to a Standing Committee

Standing Committee

    (2)   Proceedings in the Standing Committee shall (so far as not previously concluded) be brought to a conclusion on Thursday 16th January 2003.

    (3)   The Standing Committee shall have leave to sit twice on the first day on which it meets.

Consideration and Third Reading

    (4)   Proceedings on consideration shall (so far as not previously concluded) be brought to a conclusion one hour before the moment of interruption on the day on which those proceedings are commenced.

    (5)   Proceedings on the Third Reading shall (so far as not previously concluded) be brought to a conclusion at the moment of interruption on the day on which proceedings on consideration are commenced.

    (6)   Sessional Order B (programming committees) made by the House on 28th June 2001 shall not apply to proceedings on consideration and Third Reading.

Other proceedings

    (7)   Any other proceedings on the Bill (including any proceedings on consideration of Lord amendments or any further messages from the Lords) may be programmed.

       That the following provisions shall apply to the European Parliament (Representation) Bill for the purpose of supplementing the Order of 10th December 2002—

Consideration of Lords Amendments

      1. Proceedings on consideration of Lords Amendments shall (so far as not previously concluded) be brought to a conclusion three hours after their commencement.

Subsequent stages

      2. Any further Message from the Lords may be considered forthwith without any Question put and proceedings shall (so far as not previously concluded) be brought to a conclusion one hour after their commencement.
