ANNEX 1: NEW TOURISM AUTHORITY

The new organisation will have eight divisions reporting to the Chief Executive:

Overseas Operations Managing the overseas office network and implementing international marketing strategy on territory
Finance and ITResponsible for all financial matters and IT strategy across the whole organisation
Communications and External Relations Leading internal and external communications and UK stakeholder relations
Marketing (Domestic) Leading and co-ordinating the marketing of England in the domestic market and representing the England brand interests to the international markets
Marketing (International) Define, develop and lead the organisation's global brand marketing strategy
Visitor ServicesResponsible for data collection, quality standards and EnglandNet.
Policy and Strategy Responsible for business planning market intelligence and industry policy
Human ResourcesHeading up all HR matters for the new organisation

160   This is the total resource available in relation to England, with the exception of London, and will not all be allocated to the new organisation. At least _3.6 million of it will be deployed through the Regional Development Agencies Back

161   For 2003-04, additional funding of _2 million is available subject to the completion of a satisfactory implementation plan by February 2003. This, together with resources freed up from restructuring, should be used to create a budget for leading and co-ordinating domestic marketing in England of about _5 million in 2003-04. For 2004-05, additional funding of _2 million is available subject to the completion of a satisfactory marketing plan by September 2003, with a further _1.5 million available if private sector funding targets in that year are met. Back
