Trade Unions (Political Funds) Reform Bill






Limit the requirement to re-ballot on the maintenance of trade union political

funds to a total of three consecutive ballots. 

Be it enacted by the Queen’s most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and

consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present

Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—


Amendment of the Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act



The Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992 (c. 52) is

amended as follows.


In section 73(3) (passing and effect of political resolution), after “rescinded”


there is inserted “and until twice re-affirmed by ballot”.


Short title and extent


This Act may be cited as the Trade Unions (Political Funds) Reform Act 2004.


This Act extends to England, Wales and Scotland.
