familial and iatrogenic Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD), and also variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (vCJD), up to 31 December 2003. Copies have been placed in the Library, and the report is also available on the NCJDSU's website at www.cjd.ed.ac.uk.

NORTHERN IRELAND

Criminal Justice

The Secretary of State for Northern Ireland (Mr. Paul Murphy): I have received the annual report of the chief inspector of criminal justice Northern Ireland for the financial year 2003–04. The report outlines criminal justice inspection's performance from August 2003, when the chief inspector was appointed, to 31 March 2004.

I have arranged for copies of the report to be laid before the House today.
