FAIR SHARE
The fair share initiative consists of three
strands:
NEW OPPORTUNITIES
FUND FAIR
SHARE TRUST
A £50 million expendable endowment which
will be delivered by the Community Foundation Network on behalf
of the New Opportunities Fund during a 10 year programme.
NEW OPPORTUNITIES
FAIR SHARE:
TRANSFORMING YOUR
SPACE
A three year programme to support locally identified
"liveability" projects to improve the local environment
and amenities in fair share areas in England. A total of £38.75
million has been set aside for these projects.
COMMUNITY FUND
FAIR SHARE
£92 million from the Community Fund will
be delivered through its current grants programmes and is targeted
at designated fair share areas. During the first year of the programme
2002-03, more than £31 million has been spent in 37 areas
targeted by the Community Fund. This represents 91% of the target
set for the first year. With just over half of the 3-year programme
left to run, the Community Fund is on target to spend up to the
£92 million, set to be achieved by April 2005.
