Not an easy question to answer as the schemes
often combine revenue and capital funding sources at varying scales
depending on each individual school. However, as a rule of thumb
an "average" rural primary "safer routes to school"
programme can vary from £15-£30,000 (from which up to
20% could be revenue funding). For an urban primary this can increase
to between £30-£80,000 (again this figure includes a
maximum of 20% revenue). A typical secondary school costs between
£50-£150,000 (including revenue costs around 25%). Finally,
the current team of advisers are funded through a bursary grant
of £161,000 for each of the next two financial years.
