Select Committee on Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Written Evidence

Memorandum submitted by T. G. Redsell Ltd

IMPLEMENTATION OF CAP REFORM IN THE UK

I am a farmer and a grower and regionalisation would give me a greater subsidy thatn the historical system. However, I have grown fruit, cabbages, potatoes and onions because I thought they would return me more money than combinable crops.

I do not think, therefore, that just because the system is changing I should be entitled to ask for a subsidy on my horticultural production.

A further point is that hop growers would be unduly penalised if Hop Income Aid were to come under the single payment in a regional payment system.
