Draft Report [The European Commission's Annual Work
Programme for 2004], proposed by the Chairman, brought up and
read.
Ordered, That the Chairman's
draft Report be read a second time, paragraph by paragraph.
Paragraphs 1 and 2 read and agreed to.
Paragraph 3 read.
Amendment proposed, in line 1, to leave out 'In future
we may invite evidence from Commissioners, and' and insert 'and
in future we may invite to give evidence representatives of the
Commission who have a broader and deeper knowledge of the ongoing
work of the Commission'. (Mr Anthony Steen.)
