Letter to Jonathan Baume, First Division

At its meeting yesterday, the Committee noted
the recent press articles in the Sunday Times and The
Guardian, concerning personnel management at the Foreign and
Commonwealth Office. Members were naturally concerned at some
of the allegations made in the two reports and would welcome any
comments you may care to make on them. I have also written to
the Foreign Secretary similarly asking for his comments on the
stories.

course.
