Infrastructure On-Costs and Inflation, for which the Strategic
Health Authority is processing a Revised Approval.

The original estimated completion date has slipped
due to a delay in work starting on site. However, the original
contract programme of 15 months duration remains the same.

The predicted time (+15.50%) overrun is due
to a longer period required for refinement of the Scheme Brief
and Development of Scheme Design post the single, combined Outline/Full
Business Case Stage Approval.

Gateshead
The predicted cost overrun of 12.30% is due
to the addition to the scheme of IT, Artwork and Green Issues
provisions, together with extra "shell" accommodation
to functionally future-proof the Treatment Facilities.

The reason for the overrun is changes to design

Royal Shrewsbury Hospitals NHS Trust
Royal Shrewsbury Acute services reconfiguration
The delay is due to the need to repair and rebuild
service ducts in the road that provides the exit route for the
contractor from this site. This is a consequence of traffic associated
with this contract. In addition, there are other issues that are
the subject of discussion with the contractor. Efforts are under
way to resolve existing problems and to mitigate any delays.
Guy's and St. Thomas' NHS Trust
Rationalisation of Acute Services, Women's
Services and Cancer Services
The rationalisation of Women's, Children's and
Cancer Services at the Guy's site and the St Thomas' site is partly
publicly funded and partly funded by Guy's and St Thomas' Charitable
Foundation, the £50 million cost identified in the table
being the public element. The majority of the publicly financed
works are complete. On completion of the new charitably funded
Children's Hospital, also part of this scheme, the remainder of
the works will be completed. Additional funding of £3.5 million
to deal with the issue of mixed sex accommodation, an initiative
introduced after FBC approval, has been added to the scheme.
Great Ormond Street Hospital NHS Trust
Phases 1A/1B
Whilst the programmes were delayed for various
reasons including prolongation of design, planning consent etc,
the Capital costs is still within forecast.
Barnet Primary Care NHS Trust
Phase 3 of the Edgware Community Hospital project
The reasons for the time and cost overruns are
complex and are connected to the completeness of design at the
point of letting the construction contract together with a degree
of client driven changes.

The Newham increase is due to a change in scope.
