Select Committee on Office of the Deputy Prime Minister: Housing, Planning, Local Government and the Regions Written Evidence

Memorandum by the East Midlands Development Agency (EMDA) (THC 17)

I can comment on the 4th bullet point as set out below, as this is the main issue of relevance to emda.

The extent of the integration of the Housing Corporation's investment programmes with local, regional and national policies and particularly its emerging relationship with the regional housing boards and the Regional Development Agencies.

In the East Midlands, as in other regions, regional housing structures are at a relatively early stage of development. So far, the housing corporation has shown itself to be a committed and able partner on the regional housing board and in developing the East Midlands regional housing strategy. The housing corporation appears to be closely integrating its Approved Development Programme with emerging regional housing priorities along with other key regional plans and strategies.
