  The table above provides a profile by age range (where indicated) of the consultation returns. It shows the number of preferences expressed for each range of budget cuts (in the first column of figures) broken down by age group. It also shows the percentages of each age group expressing a preference for each option.

  This indicates that the "older" members of the population favoured the 2.5% increase and the younger respondents the standstill 11.5% increase. The un-weighted results were dominated by the older generation.
