Select Committee on Office of the Deputy Prime Minister: Housing, Planning, Local Government and the Regions Written Evidence

Memorandum by CPREssex (The Council for the Protection of Rural Essex) (GTS 31)

The Council for the Protection of Rural Essex would like to make the one comment that we regret that local authorities are no longer obliged to provide sites for Gypsies and Travellers.

It has been our perception that Essex has been targeted by the travelling community simply because there is a lack of authorised sites.

Suzanne Walker,

Chairman, CPREssex
