Eighth Special Report
On 28 July 2004, we published our Eighth Report,
Restoring confidence in long-term savings, as House of
Commons paper No. 71. We have now received responses from the
Government (dated 27 September 2004 appended below as Appendix
1) and the Financial Services Authority (dated 21 September 2004,
appended below[1] as Appendix
3). We have also received papers from the Government and the Financial
Services Authority containing responses to a number of outstanding
points raised in the oral evidence taken from the Financial Secretary
on 28 June 2004 and the Chairman and Chief Executive of the Financial
Services Authority on 23 June 2004; these are at Appendix 2[2]
and Appendix 4[3] below
respectively.
