Housing Association Accounts

Mr. McNamara: To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will list for each financial year since 2001–02 the dates on which each housing association in Belfast was required to submit annual accounts for inspection; on what dates these accounts were received in each case; and what reason was given in each case where the delay was in excess of three months. [220212]

Mr. Spellar: Only those housing associations registered with the Department for Social Development in Northern Ireland are required to submit their annual accounts for inspection by the Department.

Article 19 of the Housing (NI) Order 1992 requires a registered housing association to furnish to the Department a copy of its accounts within six months of the end of the period to which they relate. The information requested is attached in respect of the 39 associations registered with the Department.
