PCU/WELFARE INFORMATION AND GUIDANCE UNIT

(NB: The name of this unit has yet to be decided)

TERMS OF REFERENCE

  To provide a service to Student Police Constables who contact the Unit.

  The unit will provide options to Student Police Constables on any issue of concern to them.

  These may include the following:

—  Bereavement

—  Considering resignation

—  Disability

—  Fairness

—  Financial

—  Illness with close family or friends

—  Sexuality

—  Sexual offences

—  Religious and cultural issues

—  Maternity/Paternity

—  Child/Elder care

—  Any other issue of concern

  The unit will also be responsible for liaising with DOIT re the introduction and maintenance of a 0-5 Mentoring scheme.

  The unit will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a First Contact scheme within the DTD.
