Select Committee on Defence Written Evidence

Further memorandum from the WRVS

Please find enclosed supplementary information on two points arising from the evidence session on 30 June.

1.  QUESTION 364

Statistics relating to the Army Training Regiments (ATRA)

We collect statistics from all of our locations, however, we appreciate that for this particular exercise only ATRA statistics are required.

We have also enclosed a copy of the statistics form which is completed at the end of every month by the Services Welfare Officer (a copy of this is passed to the relevant Commanding Officer). You will note that currently there is no audit trail of "referred to issues", we are currently working to resolve this to ensure issues are followed up and satisfactorily closed.

2.  QUESTION 365 (NOT PRINTED)

Copy of report containing feedback from Commanding Officers

We hope you will find this, our first attempt in obtaining customer feedback, regarding the service we provide useful. The information relates to all locations and not only the training regiments.

It is however important to note, that we intend building further on this to ensure the service we provide can grow to tailor the requirements of any given location.

You will note that 27 responses were not returned. We believe this to be due to operational pressures in Iraq.

Finally, our operating procedures manual (training manual) is in its final draft form and we are assured it will be completed by Friday of next week. We will post a copy of this to you immediately upon its receipt.

If however, you require further information or we can assist the committee in any other way, please do not hesitate to contact me.
