Royal marines Discipline Issues dealt with under the Army Act 1955

The statistics relating to numbers of courts martial or other disciplinary or administrative procedures in respect of CTCRM Lympstone were reported as part of the Naval Service, although it was noted that such issues are dealt with under the terms of the Army Act.

The statistics were treated in this way to demonstrate that although CTCRM is an RN establishment, individuals passing through the training centre are subject to the Army Act. This reflects the arrangement whereby RM personnel are subject to the Army Act while ashore, and the Naval Discipline Act whilst on ship.
