Select Committee on Defence Written Evidence

The Territorial Army training regimes, and DGT&E relationship with TA

The MoD takes its Duty of Care to all serving personnel extremely seriously and that duty applies to reserve forces as it does to their regular counterparts. So far as possible reserve forces training is undertaken to the same demanding standard as that of the regular forces. Reserve forces undergoing initial training in MoD training establishments have access to the same welfare arrangements as their regular counterparts. It should be noted that some elements of training of the reserve forces may be conducted over a number of weekends in various locations and in this case the relevant policies are applied as required in order to ensure that the reserve forces meet the operational standard.
