of State for Defence to the Chairman
Thank you for your letter of 12 July about pre
legislative scrutiny of the Tri-Service Bill. I am very pleased
that the Committee will be able to contribute in this way. I recognise,
of course, the constraints of time and the existing full programme
under which you are operating. I hope therefore it will assist
the Committee if I ensure that the memorandum is with your Clerk
before the House returns from the Conference recess on 11 October.
