We thank you for forwarding a copy of the Draft
Animal Welfare Bill which we have read with interest. Following
the receipt of this we attended the meeting hosted by the Parrot
Society on the 17 July at which Graham Thurlow, Defra Veterinary
Officer gave an overview of the bill and its aims. We found this
very interesting and helpful in our understanding of the bill.
At this meeting the Animal Fair Working Group
proposals were put forward and we would advise you that we are
in full agreement with these proposals.
