Memorandum submitted by the Circus Arts
Forum
The Circus Arts Forum broadly welcomes the draft
Animal Welfare Bill, and the need for legislation for animals
in performance.
However, the Circus Arts Forum has a number
of specific concerns with the Bill as it is currently drafted.
We strongly feel that there is a need for further
meaningful consultation with the Circus Industry to discuss these
issues, and we are concerned at the very short period of time
given for the submission of evidence during the busiest period
of the year for the industry and the Circus Arts Forum.
We would therefore urge that further consultation
within a workable timetable is provided.
