Select Committee on Foreign Affairs Written Evidence

SUDAN

Letter to the Parliamentary Relations and Devolution Department, Foreign and Commonwealth Office, from the Clerk of the Committee, 28 April 2004

The Committee has been following with great concern recent events in Sudan, particularly the situation in Darfur. Members have noted the recent written answers by Chris Mullin to Richard Spring (20 April, col 452W) and to Mike Hancock (26 April, col 776W), which summarise some recent developments, but they would welcome a longer note, which would go into greater detail both on the events in Sudan, and on the reaction of the UK and of the international community to them.

It would be helpful to receive such a note not later than 17 May.

Steve Priestley

Clerk of the Committee
