42. Third supplementary memorandum
submitted by the Association of Police Authorities
Thank you for inviting the Association to submit
further evidence to the Committee following publication of the
White Paper on police reform. As you know, the Association represents
all police authorities in England and Wales as well as the Northern
Ireland Policing Board and the British Transport Police Authority.
I am afraid that in the time available, it has
not been possible to prepare a separate submission for the Committee,
but I attach a briefing paper which we have prepared setting out
the APA's Initial views on aspects of the White Paper.
As you will appreciate, we are currently consulting
all police authorities on the White Paper in order to produce
a corporate response by the close of the consultation period.
