Thank you for your letter of 8 January 2004.
My own view is that we should revert to the old hours for Tuesdays
and Wednesdays and rearrange Thursday so that we have a morning
and afternoon sitting (with a break for lunch). In that way, we
would avoid taking important business over lunchtime, when the
chamber—and the press gallery especially—tend to be
empty, while maintaining the early getaway on Thursdays, which
I know is important to colleagues from further north.
