Memorandum from Professor Trevor Jones,
King's College London
I am Professor Trevor M Jones CBE recently Director
General of the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry
(ABPI) and also Deputy Chair of Council of King's College London.
I would like the inquiry to be aware that in
seeking a new location for the NIMR my contacts with the Medical
Research Council have been frequent and I have found the Council
and particularly Colin Blakemore to have given this matter significant
priority and diligence. Obviously we would like King's to be the
preferred location for NIMR but I understand the necessity for
MRC to carry out a very thorough examination of all the possibilities;
which they have done.
