Memorandum from Dr Stephen Robert Brennan
As a General Physician in the NHS for over 30
years, I was involved in the "debate" about the Warnock
Report & the Polkinghorn Report. I do not feel that the HFE
Act or Authority has properly maintained Ethical Standards in
Health Care in these sensitive areas, and this is because the
Make-up of the Authority is so weighted in favour of Scientists
and those who do not have the Sanctity of Human Life at heart.
I call for a complete overhaul of the Act and a return to some
basic principles of how we deal with Human Beings.
