The Committee missed this day's programme as their flight was diverted to Iceland.

15.00 - 17.30  Visit North American International Auto Show, Detroit

19.00  Dinner hosted by HM Consul-General, Chicago, for automotive industry guests, (including analysts, research institutes e.g. Toyota Technical Centre; Daimler Chrysler; Centre for Automotive Research)

Wednesday 14 January

The morning was spent in meetings with Ford and General Motors.

The rest of the day spent in travel to Sacramento

Thursday 15 January

Lunch:  Working Lunch with representatives of the California Air Resources Board (responsible for the zero emissions vehicles mandate which is driving the introduction of clean cars in California)

pm:    Visit to California Fuel Cell partnership

Friday 16 January

am:  Visit to California Partners for Advanced Transit and Highways (PATH), University of California at Berkeley

Monday 18 October

Meeting with Ministry of Construction & Transport officials

Tuesday 19 October

Travel to World Cup Stadium by subway

Briefing on World Cup Stadium, transport policy and transport management measures used during the 2002 World Cup

Meeting with Mayor of Seoul and officials about Seoul public transport and transport measures during major sporting events

Visit to and demonstration of Seoul Metropolitan Government Bus Management System Centre
