In my letter to you of 1 November, following
the hearing of the Treasury Select Committee on 19 October, I
said I would confirm the date we were able to implement clearer
links to our product summary boxes on the internet. We had hoped
to achieve this by 30 November and I can confirm that this has
now been implemented.
At this time I can also confirm that the minimum
payment warning has now been added to statements, effective 1
December. This is a month ahead of the APACS deadline of 31 December.
The plans we referred to in the same letter
to enlarge our summary boxes also remain on track and we have
begun issuing enlarged summary boxes on our marketing literature
from 1 December 2004. All Capital One's summary boxes, including
customer materials as well as marketing literature, will be at
the new enhanced size by 1 February.
