EPSRC data reports the total value of current grants on 1 January
each year by region. As most grants last over several years this
is greater than the annual EPSRC budget (the table reports funding
commitments not expenditure). The figures for 1999 and 2000 do
not include provision for postgraduate training as this funding
was allocated by a different route prior to this. Back
