CHARTER OF HUMAN RIGHTS AND COMMISSION LEGISLATIVE PROPOSALS

   That this House takes note of the European Union Document No. COM (2005) 172, Commission Communication on Compliance with the Charter of Fundamental Rights in Commission legislative proposals; and supports the Government’s position that the communication establishes ways in which the Commission could improve the compliance of its proposals with aspects of community law related to fundamental rights and the Charter remains a non-legally binding showcase of existing rights.
