    '(7)   For section 1(3)(b) (Requirement of firearm certificate), substitute—

          "(b) an air weapon (that is to say an air rifle, air gun or air pistol with a muzzle energy in excess of 4 joules which does not fall within section 5(1) and which is not of a type declared by rules made be the Secretary of State under section 53 of this Act to be specially dangerous)".

    (8)   For the purposes of this Act, an air weapon shall have the meaning assigned to it by section 1(3)(b) of the 1968 Act.'.
