To

Amend the Housing Act 2004 so as to repeal provisions relating to Home

Information Packs. 

Be it enacted by the Queen’s most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and

consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present

Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

Repeal of Part 5 of the Housing Act 2004

(1)   

Part 5 of the Housing Act 2004 (c. 34) (Home information packs) is hereby

repealed.

(2)   

The following consequential amendments shall be made to the Housing Act

2004—

(a)   

in section 262(6) (Meaning of “lease”, “tenancy”, “occupier” and

“owner” etc) the words “does not apply for the purposes of Part 5 and”

are omitted;

(b)   

section 270(6) (Short title, commencement and extent) is omitted;

(c)   

in section 270(8) the words “, (6)” are omitted; and

(d)   

Schedule 8 (Penalty charge notices under section 168) is omitted.

Short title and extent

(1)   

This Act may be cited as the Housing Act 2004 (Amendment) Act 2006.

(2)   

This Act extends to England and Wales only.
