St George’s Day as an annual public holiday in England;

Parliament assembled,
and by the authority of the same, as follows:— |

Amendment
of the Banking and Financial Dealings Act 1971 |

(1) |
The Banking
and Financial Dealings Act 1971 (c. 80) is amended
as follows. |
|
|
(2) |
In Schedule 1, after paragraph
1, there is inserted— |
|
|
“1A |
The following is to
be a bank holiday in England (but not in |
|
|
|

|
23rd
April (St George’s Day) if it be not a Saturday or Sunday
or, if it |
|
|
be
a Saturday, 22nd April, or, if it be a Sunday, 24th April.” |

|
|
|
There
shall be paid out of money provided by Parliament any increase
attributable to |
|
|
this
Act in the sums payable out of money so provided under any other
enactment. |

This Act may be cited as
the St George’s Day Act 2006. |

|
|
