Vehicle Disposal
Norman Baker:
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what information he has about the average percentage of vehicle components removed from vehicles for reuse at end-of-life disposal in each year since 1985. [4477]
Malcolm Wicks:
I have been asked to reply.
Although detailed figures are not routinely collected, various studies by Government and industry in recent years estimate that parts for re-use accounts for between 6 per cent. and 11 per cent. of the total weight of end-of-life vehicles (ELVs).
